Join us to explore one of the best-kept secrets of Valparaíso: the historic Playa Ancha Hill, a neighborhood full of local identity, heritage architecture, and streets that feel frozen in time. On this Free Tour, we will walk through an area rich in local history, beautiful old mansions, and buildings from the city’s golden age, discovering the everyday life of the most authentic side of Valparaíso — far from the usual tourist routes.
A journey through local history and architecture
During the tour, we will explore one of Valparaíso’s most important and iconic neighborhoods, known for its architectural diversity, traditional atmosphere, and strong local character. You will discover historic shops that still preserve the spirit of the early 20th century while learning about local stories, traditions, and hidden details that are part of the city’s cultural identity. We will also visit an area we call “Little San Francisco,” famous for its colorful wooden houses and its resemblance to Alamo Square in San Francisco, California. A unique corner of the city that still preserves its historic charm.
The best viewpoint in Valparaíso
The experience includes a stop at Paseo 21 de Mayo, considered one of the most breathtaking viewpoints in Valparaíso. From here, you will enjoy panoramic views over the bay, the port, and the colorful hills surrounding the city.
Ending in the historic port district
The tour finishes at the terrace of Mercado Puerto, located in the traditional Port District, one of the city’s most historic and gastronomic areas. From there, you will have easy access to public transportation, restaurants, and other attractions in downtown Valparaíso.

- To join our free tour, please choose a valid booking date and make sure to book at least one hour before the tour starts. In case the minimum number of participants is not reached, we may need to cancel the booking. Thank you for your understanding!
- Passengers should wear appropriate clothing, comfortable shoes for the walking tour, and be aware of weather conditions before the tour.
- Passengers must inform the guide of any medical or pre-existing conditions they have, as well as any physical or visual difficulties.
- The meeting point is at 11:00AM. Guides will be present starting at 10:50 AM to note the arrival of passengers. The tour starts at 11:10 AM and will last a maximum of 3 hours.
- The tour does not have insurance, so the company is not responsible for any accident or loss that may occur during the tour. However, in case an incident occurs, the company will provide assistance and guidance to passengers.
- This tour does not include public transportation tickets, meals, or extras.
- Travelers may withdraw at any time by notifying the guide.
- Passengers should pay attention to the safety instructions given by the guide(s) at the beginning of this tour.
- There are no cancellation policy because this is a free tour.
- Tour passengers are suggested to make a voluntary contribution or "tips" with a minimum amount of money for the guide(s), as indicated in the description.
